What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic has traditionally taught as the art, science and philosophy of all things natural. Modern day chiropractic employs numerous “best practices” that make the care rendered safe, efficient and effective.

Most treatments generally include spinal and extremity adjusting, soft tissue work and stretching. Individually and collectively these therapeutic treatments work to restore movement function, alleviate painful movements, improve posture and create within the patient feelings of ease and a state that promotes general circulation, assimilation of nutrients and elimination of waste products.

Wellness Care

Traditional medicine is patient centered care that is “reactive care,” care is sought after something has gone “wrong.”

Wellness care is a combination of interventions and possibly adoption of lifestyle changes that prevent or at least combat common degenerative processes all humans eventually succumb to.

Periodic chiropractic adjustments, a consistent exercise program, attention to a sensible diet, proper hydration, restorative sleep patterns, a vibrant social network and a positive attitude towards life have all individually and collectively been shown to enhance one’s life.
Specifically chiropractic wellness care may be defined as periodic adjustments to specific areas to maintain range of motion within the spine with the intent to prevent musculo-skeletal problems from progressing to the symptomatic stage.

Ben Franklin is credited with stating “a stitch in time saves nine,” that adage also applies to healthcare.

Patient Education

One of the tenents of chiropractic care is prevention. To that end chiropractic care is used most effectively when it is used proactively, before “something” happens.

Periodic chiropractic treatments help insure the optimal function of tissues and organs adding more life to your years and years to your life.

Emerging research strongly suggests that periodic care has a positive effect on the five biomotor skills (speed, strength, endurance, flexibility, balance) with which the body uses to express itself.

The maintenance of health is a lifelong journey. Whether one uses care to “get back on track” or maintain a healthy and active lifestyle help is only a call away – don’t delay, call today!
